Obama Says High Speed Rail Good for Ohio

While the naysayers behind the Anti-Progress Charter Amendment were celebrating that they have enough signatures to jeopardize the city from funding passenger rail, President Obama spoke to the Enquirer to restate his support for building a high speed rail line that would connect Cincinnati to Chicago and Cleveland.

The proponents of the dangerous Anti-Progress Charter Amendment keep lying to voters and telling us this is the "Streetcar Petition." False. Read the actual language of the amendment, which would prevent the City from funding ANY passenger rail without a vote of the electorate.

President Obama has plans to connect Cincinnati with other urban areas via rail. The naysayers want to stop this.

As President Obama said, "You could link a whole bunch of cities there. The same is true between states, linking Chicago to Detroit to Cleveland, going down to St. Louis, up to Milwaukee, Indianapolis."

But if this Anti-Progress Charter Amendment passes the rail will connect all these cities and Cincinnati will be stuck wondering why they are moving forward and we are stuck doing business as usual.
